I love helping students of any background understand the power of good design and storytelling.

My teaching practice centers on helping adults build an understanding of graphic design foundations, user experience, and design theory in order to make effective and visually compelling digital products, comics, presentations—whatever it is they need in their day-to-day work.

Currently, I am an adjunct professor for the BFA in Comics and MFA in Comics programs at California College of the Arts, teaching courses in Digital Tools and Digital Comics. Before that, I taught digital design for six years at General Assembly, where I also consulted on global curriculum updates and developed design workshops and bootcamps. In 2018, I was awarded the designation of “Distinguished Faculty,” representing the top 1% of of GA instructors worldwide, and served as the first-ever Visual Design Product Advisory Board Chair from 2019–2020, then later as a board member in 2021.

I am also a tutor for San Francisco Public Library's FOG (Free Orton-Gillingham) Readers, a reading intervention program that helps struggling readers in first through fourth grade.
