I first started making comics as a way to make complex ideas more accessible to other people.

In 2018, I was exhausted by the prospect of writing yet another research paper in grad school, and identified comics as a great way to translate all of the amazing Food Studies concepts I was learning into something accessible for non-academics. I initially created two zines on food topics—How to Eat and Hungry Womxn—and have since expanded my comics practice beyond food. Comics about my experience with a double mastectomy have been published by The Washington Post and the sex education site Oh Joy Sex Toy, and my coming out story by the queer magazine A Bundle of Sticks. My zines can be found at Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle and Wasted Ink Zine Distro.
